As a conductor and musical director, Lesia has developed and leads a number of community choirs around Leicestershire. She offers community members, both young and old, an opportunity to explore the joy of choral singing. Many members say that their choir activities are a highlight of their social lives.

Lesia constantly strives to get the best out of her singers and has developed a wide ranging repertoire to suit all musical tastes that continue to attract large audiences at all their concerts. She has been awarded a High Sheriff Award in recognition of her great and valued services to Leicestershire communities.

In recognition of Musical Village’s achievements, Lesia and the choirs have been invited to participate in many high profile events. Over the past year she has conducted her choirs at dozens of community events, at Civic occasions around Leicestershire, as well as for King Richard III and at several concerts over two years presented by Russell Watson at Curve Theatre. Her children's choir were invited to sing with Abba Mania at several locations in the UK in 2016 / 2017 and her adult choirs are looking forward to singing with Sam Bailey on her UK tour 'Sing My Heart Out' at 9 venues across the UK in 2017.

As a soloist, Lesia is regularly booked to sing at weddings, funerals, social events and private functions (for more info click here).

Lesia is a full member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

In June 2013, it was a privilege to sing again at the High Sheriff’s Crown Court Service in St. Mary de Castro, and at our May concert, the outgoing sheriff, Richard Brooks, awarded Lesia with one of his High Sheriff awards for services to the community.

Mr Brooks said 'In my capacity as High Sheriff, I was introduced to Musical Village and some of their adult singers, as well as talented and charming children, when they sang for us at the Court Opening Service for a visiting High Court Judge at St Mary de Castro Church last April. They sang beautifully, and I discovered that their ringleader is Lesia Smaditch, Leicestershire's very own answer to Gareth Malone."

Mr Brooks added 'Lesia has been the inspiration and driving force behind Musical Village over the past 5 years and has encouraged a wide variety of choral singing in the community. As such, I am delighted to present her with a High Sheriff Award for her outstanding dedication and service to the singers of Blaby District. They so evidently love the fun, enthusiasm and camaraderie fostered at Musical Village. Long may it flourish.'

Lesia said 'It was a privilege for our choir and children to be invited to sing at the Court Opening Service. All of our singers have worked hard to reach a high standard but we always try to have fun along the way. I was shocked and delighted to be recognised personally by the High Sheriff through this award.'
