Lesia Smaditch is the Founder and Director of Musical Village Community Interest Company.
With a background spanning community music, public health, accessibility and project management, Lesia is passionate about bringing people together and creating opportunities for connection, confidence and participation through music.
Since founding Musical Village in 2008, she has developed a range of community music and wellbeing programmes, including Community Choir, Vocal Wellbeing Hubs and Pop Stars Club. Her work is guided by a simple belief: music has the power to bring people together, strengthen communities and help people feel connected to those around them.
Alongside her work with Musical Village, Lesia has worked in public health and community development roles, including serving as a Public Health Community Support Team Leader for Leicester City Council during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also managed large-scale community and accessibility projects, including a £330,000 Department for Transport-funded project for Vista supporting accessibility and reducing loneliness for people living with sight loss.
Over the years, Lesia's work has brought together community groups, schools, charities, healthcare professionals, local authorities and residents to create meaningful opportunities for people to engage with their communities. Her strengths lie in building partnerships, developing projects and turning ideas into practical solutions that benefit local people.
Today, Lesia continues to lead Musical Village Community Interest Company, focusing on community wellbeing, social connection and creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together through shared musical experiences.
